6 Tips for Digital Nomads: How to Work and Live Anywhere

Working remotely sounds like a dream—and for many, it truly is. The freedom to choose your own hours, wake up by the ocean, and take meetings from a sunny rooftop café? Yes, please! But behind the dreamy Instagram pictures lies one truth: living and working as a digital nomad requires intention, discipline, and the right tools.

After working from different corners of the world, including our soul island Ibiza, we’ve gathered some tips that can make all the difference. Whether you're just starting your nomadic journey or looking to refine your remote work routine, here are 6 essential tips for living and working anywhere—with balance, joy, and flow.

  1. Create a Work Routine That Grounds You

Flexibility is amazing—but too much of it can easily turn into chaos. Create a daily rhythm that works with your lifestyle, not against it. Maybe that means working mornings and adventuring in the afternoon, or setting time blocks for focused deep work.

Sister Tip: Set start + end times to avoid the “always on” trap.

2. Invest in Good Tools & Tech

A few key tools can completely change your remote workflow. Think beyond a laptop:

  • Noise-canceling headphones for focus anywhere

  • Portable Wi-Fi device or SIM card for connection in remote spots

  • Cloud storage & backups to keep your work safe

  • Apps like Notion, Canva, Zoom and Google Workspace

4. Find (or Create) Community on the Road

Being a digital nomad can be lonely—especially if you travel solo. Look for local meetups, women’s groups, co-working events, or retreats. Some of our closest friendships started from a spontaneous coffee date or yoga class.

Sister Tip: Join Facebook groups or platforms like Nomad List, Meetup, or Tandem to connect with like-minded people.

3. Prioritize Spaces That Support Your Work

Not every beach bar makes a great office 😉
Search for cafés with strong Wi-Fi or join a co-working space. In places like Ibiza, Bali, or Florida, you’ll find incredible digital nomad hubs that offer great work environments—and amazing coffee.

Sister Tip: Apps like Workfrom or Coworker help you find nomad-friendly spots anywhere.

5. Embrace the Feminine Flow of Work

One of the biggest lessons we’ve learned: work doesn’t always have to be hard to be valuable.
Let go of the hustle energy. As women, we thrive when we’re in tune with both our structure and our intuition.
Design your workday with flow and feeling—not just output.

Sister Tip: Tap into your creative energy through morning rituals like journaling, breathwork, or simply slow coffee in the sun.

6. Choose Locations That Nourish You

The beauty of remote work? You get to choose where you live. So choose places that support your growth—emotionally, creatively, and energetically.

For us, Ibiza is one of those places. It’s more than an island—it’s a mindset. The light, the nature, the rhythm of the island…it helps us slow down, get inspired, and reconnect with ourselves.

Sister Tip: Ask yourself: "Does this place energize me or drain me?" Let that answer guide your next move.

Our Daily Routines: Because Productivity Looks Different for Everyone

One of the biggest myths in the digital nomad world is that there’s a “right” way to structure your day. The truth is: We all work differently and it’s important to tune into what actually serves your energy—not what the internet says you should be doing.

Here’s how we flow through our days (and trust us—it looks different for each of us).

Ari’s Routine: Structure with a Creative Twist

I (Ariane) love waking up early. Like really early.
The day starts with coffee (yes, I know—it’s not ideal on an empty stomach, but it’s my ritual ☕️), followed by a short meditation to ground or inspire myself (depending on the day’s mood).

Then I go straight into deep work mode for about two hours—this is my most focused time.
After that, I step away from the laptop: a walk, a workout, or some movement helps me to reset my system.

Afternoons? Always my least productive window.
That’s why I try to use this time to explore new places or do activities that spark my creativity—taking long walks, swimming, writing ideas down, discovering new cafés (Connecting with nature is my gamechanger).

Evenings are either for dinner, solo or with friends, or I squeeze in a few more hours of work (if I’m still feeling sharp).

I also intentionally take one day off a week. No emails. No phone. Just me, nature, and a full reset. I’ve learned how vital this is to avoid burnout and stay present.

Julia’s Routine: Flow, Fuel & Flexibility

I love starting my mornings slow—meditation followed by movement. Whether it’s yoga, a gentle workout, or simply stretching, it’s my way to ease into the day.

Then I dive into work, but with boundaries. I set a clear time block where I don’t schedule client calls—this gives me space to get into flow and actually focus.

Midday is sacred. Everyone who knows me knows: if I don’t get a hot meal, I don’t function.
After lunch, I often take a short power nap to reset, then I return to work with fresh energy.

Evenings are for connection. I’m fulfilled most when I’m surrounded by people—whether I’m out with friends, hopping on a call with someone I love, or meeting new faces in a new place.

Depending on my energy, I sometimes work late into the night and then sleep in the next day. I no longer shame myself for it—I’ve learned that alignment is more important than routine.

While Ari is up before sunrise, I’m most creative when the world is quiet and dark. That’s what works for me.

Whether you’re a 5am riser or a night owl, the key is to create a lifestyle that honors your rhythm, not one that mimics someone else’s. That’s the real gift of being a digital nomad: freedom to design your own flow.

Final Thoughts: Freedom Comes with Responsibility (and That’s Beautiful)

Being a digital nomad isn’t about escaping life—it’s about designing one that’s aligned with who you truly are. Yes, it takes work. But it also gives you something priceless: freedom, creativity, connection, and self-trust.
